There are so many things that can happen to your mattress especially when you are using it every day. Unlike the regular and traditional mattresses that most people use, the pillow top mattress cannot be flipped over and with its very delicate pillow top, it can easily be damaged by little kids who are playing near or be spilled with drinks and other more common accidents at home.
Buying new pillow top mattresses can be really expensive but luckily, you can now repair all the stains, rips and sags with just a few basic supplies.
When the mattress is sagging, you should first determine the cause of it by lifting it up. Most probably the cause of the sagging is may be on the mattress itself or the support in which the mattress is resting on. In order to avoid this, you may place a board over your mattress frame to give it sufficient support.
You can place blankets under the bed sheet in order to even out a sagging mattress. After that you can fold them and work them around up until the mattress is at level and comfortable enough. If possible, you can take off the pillow top mattress topper from the mattress. You can then just place the topper in the dryer on a short no-heat cycle for it to fluff up.
With the use of a dry cloth, the liquid can be absorbed. Press the cloth against the area where it was stained and then apply a mild cleanser like a hydrogen peroxide. You can always check the tag of the mattress if there are any instructions there on certain product to use because there are some mattresses that come with special cleaning kits.
Replace the pillow top with a cotton or foam mattress pad. Sew the new pad to the bottom portion of the mattress all the way around the outside edges.
